Molecular target

Neither compound has a defined cell-surface receptor. BPC-157 acts through FAK-paxillin and nitric-oxide signalling; TB-500 binds monomeric G-actin directly. The two therefore act on different parts of the same broad process rather than on a shared target.

Signalling pathway

TB-500 shifts the G-actin to F-actin equilibrium, affecting cytoskeletal reorganisation and MRTF/SRF-dependent transcription. BPC-157 contributes VEGFR2-associated angiogenic signalling and effects on fibroblast migration. Published work examines them together in endothelial and fibroblast assays.
